What to Eat for Breakfast?

So, what should we eat for breakfast? Here's a list of do's and don'ts.

DON'T Eat the following:

Sugary cerealEat sugary cereals. These are full of empty calories that are not beneficial to your body in any way. You will pile on the weight if you eat too much sugar. Do you ever feel tired in the morning? This is probably due to you eating too much sugar.

Effectively lower your cholesterol levels

Eat donuts. For the reasons explained above.

Fried breakfasts. Bacon and eggs may seem like an appealing idea but they are unhealthy and definitely not good for you. The fat will leave you feeling too full to even move. You could try French toast instead.

Pastries. These are full of empty calories and sugar. They provide no nutrition for the day ahead.

Too much coffee. Don’t think that just because coffee gives you a quick energy boost you can just drink instead of having a proper meal.

DO Eat the following:

Eat a low sugar cereal. A bowl of cereal with milk is a good healthy breakfast.

An egg sandwich. These are popular at fast food outlets so why not try to make them at home? You can add lean ham or cheese to the recipe; the key is to experiment. Make breakfast exciting and fun.

PancakesEggs. An excellent choice for breakfast if in moderation.

Pancakes. A nice treat occasionally, but if you are making them in a pan they will contain too many calories. For a healthier option you should invest in a griddle. You should avoid topping such as sugar or syrup; instead you could try adding fresh fruit for a healthy alternative.

Juice. A great alternative to coffee, and also a great pick me up. You should be careful though as some people have found it to have laxative qualities.

Lose weight whilst you eat

ToastToast. A certain breakfast favourite. You should be careful how much butter you use though.

Oatmeal. A breakfast that will fill you and keep you going all morning. Cook and add a little sugar and milk for extra flavour.

Fruit. You could chop up some fruit for a refreshing start to the day. You could put all your favourite items into a healthy fruit salad.

So there you go, some great ideas for a delicious and healthy breakfast. All quick and simple to make. Just remember – stay away from the sugary snack food!
