Many people do not have a well stocked fridge, this can cause problems because you are not able to prepare healthy balanced meals.


If you do not have healthy things to eat then you are more likely to eat junk food, which can cause major problems.

So to help you out, here is a short list of great things that you really should use to keep your cupboards stocked full.


1. Water.

Yes you can use water out of a tap, but it tastes much better cold. Put some tap water in a bottle and keep it in the fridge.

2. Milk .

Skimmed or semi-skimmed milk can make cereal much more inviting in the morning! Breakfast is the most important meal of the day after all.

3. Fruit.

Fruit makes a healthy snack, plus it is healthier than crisps.

4. Carrots.

I love carrots! Cut them into sticks and they are the perfect substitute for chips.

5. Peanut butter.

Peanut butter contains protein but is fairly low in fat. Put it on toast for another great breakfast idea.

6. Eggs.

Eggs are so versatile, you can use then for baking and just eating on their own.

7. Yogurt.

A refreshing low fat treat for hot weather. You can use it to make drinks, or just eat it as it comes.

8. Butter.

Use butter sparingly, but it is great on toast. And it is absolutely vital for baking.

9. Lemons.

Don't suck on them, but you need them if you intend on cooking seafood. Plus you could make homemade lemonade!

10. Mayonaise.

This is high in fat, so do not use it everyday, but it is great on a sandwich! Try to use low-fat varieties of mayo.

11. Mustard.

This is great to put on sandwiches!

12. Cheese.

Cheese is vital, you should not eat it at every meal but it is lovely!

13. Drink.

You should always have something to drink.

14. Ginger.

Ginger keeps for ages so keep some root ginger in your fridge. This can be used to spice up loads of dishes.

15. Bread.

Bread is great because it fills you up! Don't go crazy eating loads of bread, but a sandwich is a quick and easy lunch.

16. Canned vegetables.

Canned is not as good as fresh vegetables, but if you can't help it they are better than nothing. Keep canned ones in case you run out of fresh ones.

17. Pasta.

Pasta is very easy and quick to cook. Everyone can cook pasta!

18. Rice.

Rice is another easy thing that everyone can cook! Plus it goes with virtually anything!

19. Spices.

Spices and herbs can make any food more interesting and tasty! Try to buy fresh herbs rather than the ones in little pots that you get in your grocery store.

20. Cereal.

Cereal is fantastic for breakfast, and great for a snack too!
