The first thing people do when they realise that they have put on extra weight is to cut down on the amount of food they eat. This may sound simple and reasonable.


Food is what makes us pile on the pounds in the first place, so it makes sense that by eating less we should be able to get back onto the right track.


Almost every magazine suggests that you cut down on the amount of food you eat in order to lose weight.


If people think that lowering the amount of food they eat will actually help them to lose weight then they will be very disappointed.


Weighing ScalesThe human body is a very cleverly designed machine, the human body has had to withstand starvation for many years. Due to evolution, the human body discovered ways of surviving. Being as the fittest survives, we are related to people that could last the longest without food.


A small decrease in the amount of food eaten is not going to make any huge differences. This is because your body will compensate for the loss by reducing the amount of energy you have.


You should eat well, rather than just eating less. Obese and thin people consume around the same number of calories per day. However fat people eat much more fat than thin people.


Effectively promote long term weight loss


Thin people prefer complex carbohydrates, these are easily broken down and can be used by the body.


It takes time to develop a good diet. A person does not become fat overnight, and so it will not go away in a couple of days.


Everybody is looking for the best and quickest dieting tips, however it is not always about speed. There is no pill that can banish fat in a flash.


Measuring waistYou have no doubt seen a lot of adverts promoting products that claim to be able to instantly remove fat due to some special ingredient. However most of these are a load of rubbish. It is not possible to lose weight like that.


The only sure fire way to lose weight for ever is to steer clear of foods that are high in fat, and to exercise. You have to exercise on a regular basis, just once a year is not good enough.


It is pointless to diet without exercising because you will pile on all the weight you lost in the following months. Our modern lifestyles are obviously to blame for the increase in the number of obese people in the world. Cars, desk jobs, and fatty foods are all to blame.
