Coffee

Every day people around the world drink millions of cups of coffee. It has become a staple of life. We see a StarBucks on every corner.

Is coffee really that good and is it addictive?

Coffee Coffee is a little of both actually. Good coffee tastes amazing, it's rich and lovely. Not a lot can compare to the taste of coffee.

Everyone likes a good cup of coffee, I like watching the steam rising from my cup of coffee in the morning.

Effectively promote long term weight loss

Is coffee good or bad for you?

Well, I think it depends on who you ask.

Usually what you will find is these scientists are paid by a company that wants to prove a point. Simply put, they pay the scientists off.

To be healthy you must do everything in moderation. Coffee is no different, if you drink a cup or two a day then it is probably fine. If however you drink gallons of coffee every day, then you could have a problem. Some people do drink a lot of coffee, some people might as well set up an IV!

Let's talk about some of the bad things about coffee.

• Coffee stains your teeth.

Coffee colours your teeth, it is unavoidable. Everyone knows someone that has coffee stained teeth. It is nearly as bad as the staining that is caused by cigarette smoke. You can buy products that are capable of whitening your teeth, however as always prevention is better than a cure.

• Bad breath.

If you have ever smelt the breath of someone that has drunk a lot of coffee then I am sure you will agree that it smells horrible. Anything is better than coffee breath.

Woman stressed• It raises stress levels.

Coffee can increase your stress levels. You can quite easily become stressed out as a result of drinking coffee. If someone drinks too much coffee then I am sure you have noticed them shaking.

• It can raise the risk of a heart attack.

While science is still somewhat out on this, it shouldn't be much of a surprise. If it elevates the heart and blood pressure, too much of it can't be a good thing.

• Sterility.

It can actually affect the chances of being able to have children. Coffee can lower your sperm count.

I know that may sound too weird to be true, but it is.

• Stomach problems.

People who drink too much coffee may have some stomach problems. The caffeine irritates the lining of the stomach.

Lose weight whilst you eat

Here are some of the benefits of coffee.

• It prevents prostate cancer.

This is a strange one, but it really does help to prevent cancer. Coffee naturally contains a substance known as boron, this is a chemical that can help to prevent prostate cancer.

• It is a good social drink.

Alcohol is also a good social drink. Many people do go to a coffee shop to socialise, a cup of coffee is nice when meeting friends. The odd cup of coffee is unlikely to hurt.

• It helps wash down a meal.

In some cultures it is actually rude if you do not either drink coffee at the start or end of a meal. Coffee is not proven to help the digestive process, but it really does taste great after a meal.

As with all things in life, you need to do things in moderation.

You need to moderate how much coffee you are drinking. If you think you are drinking too much then try to cut back on the coffee intake. Coffee may taste good, but it can damage your body and there are not really that many benefits. One or two cups of coffee per day is unlikely to hurt you.
